Hi All,

It’s definitely May, and that brings a lot of excitement here in Arcata. Arts! Arcata
on Friday, Mother’s Day on Sunday (don’t forget that special bottle of wine), and
HSU Graduation the following weekend. But we are ready, and looking forward to it
with enthusiasm. And don’t forget about our new Kegerator. We are still pouring
the Hommel Ale, but it is going quickly. So catch it while you can. You can keep up
with what is happening at Libation on our web site libation.com.

As I mentioned above, it’s
Arts! Arcata on Friday. Our artist for this month is
actually a group collaboration. They are photographs created by 2 classes of
students from College of the Redwoods The theme is “Trees”, and they are quite
wonderful. I hope you have a chance to see them, if not on Friday, then sometime
this month.

As it is Arts! Arcata, we are continuing the tradition with a Sparkling Wine flight.
And as it is Mother’s Day on Sunday, we thought we would make it extra special
and serve
French Champagne. In my opinion, the best is Champagne. And each
one in this flight is of a different style from each other. All of them are very tasty.
We haven’t looked at
California Red Blends for a while, and that is what we are
doing in the The First Red Flight. We’ll have Sean Thackery’s Pleiades, and 2
other wines that will certainly please you. The Second Red Flight brings us some
wines from one of my favorite regions,
Piedmont, Italy. They have the Barolos
and the Barbarescos that have made this area famous. This flight has wine from
this region that are different. Oh, sure, we have a Nebbiolo, which is the grape of
Barolo and Barbaresco . But we also have a delicious blend from the northern part
of Piedmont, and a wine whose name translates to “kiss the women” made from a
rare grape called Pelaverga. I like them all, and should be lots of fun.

As it is Arts! Arcata on Friday, we have the smooth tunes of
Duncan Burgess,
using his Guitar to accompany his fabulous voice. And Saturday brings the
Randles, Labolle, AmirKhan Trio playing some great Jazz. It’s a weekend to
remember!

The Wine Bar is still going strong til 9pm on Monday - Thursday.  And we will have
our Happy Hour 6pm - 8pm on those days where we will give you $1 off our already
reasonably priced Wines by the Glass. And don’t forget our new Kegerator. Buddy
Reed is still joining us on Tuesdays for some of that mean Blues Guitar he plays.
Details on all our events are on our Web site, libation.com. And Like Us on our
